To answer a few questions seen posted on various forums about screenings: "IMDB says the movie was made in 2005. How come I haven't been able to find it ?" Simple. Production started in 2005. The main filming had been broken up into 3 shoots over that year. Reshoots, inserts and a new ending have taken place over the last year to make 'The Shrieking' the best it can be before release. It is still getting tweaked even now before you see it. On an interesting side note, only 3 people have even seen the entire film in its rough form and none of them rated it on IMDB. Your guess is as good as ours as to who has (especially the 1 star votes). "Is the movie being released theatrically or straight to video ?" Most likely both. Since 'The Shrieking' was shot entirely independently, there was no distribution deal already waiting upon its completion. Therefore, it is being entered into horror film festivals across the world to be seen by fans and potential distributors on the big screen before it ends up on your local video store shelves. Updated listings will be posted here. "Is it like 'The Legend Of Boggy Creek' meets 'The Blair Witch Project' ?" No. There is a creature seen in the movie and it's not a guy wearing a gorilla mask when you pause the DVD. "Is it a true story ? Is it Bigfoot ?" I guess you'll have to check back for screenings to see for yourself....
